Scratch in the clear coat? We can usually wet-sand and polish it out without repainting at all. Down to primer or metal? That needs proper priming and matched paint — but we blend into the neighbouring panels so there’s nothing to see.
Either way, it’s a quick job. Bring it by and we’ll tell you which kind you’ve got.
How we do it — step by step
- Check the depth — clear coat only, or down to primer and metal? That decides the fix.
- Polish it out — clear-coat scratches get wet-sanded and polished, no repaint needed.
- Touch up chips — cleaned, primed, painted level and cleared.
- Respray if it’s deep — scratches to metal get a proper panel refinish blended into the neighbours.
- Inspect — checked under proper lighting until there’s nothing left to see.
Common questions
Can a scratch be polished out?
If it's only in the clear coat — yes, wet-sanding and polishing removes it without repainting. Deeper scratches need paint, and we blend them so nothing shows.
What about stone chips?
Chips get cleaned, primed, painted level and clear-coated. Fixing them early stops rust from starting under the paint.
How much does scratch repair cost?
Light polishing is inexpensive; full panel refinishing costs more. Bring it by — we'll tell you which kind yours is in a couple of minutes.
